Athens 2004 Olympic and Paralympic Games

In 2004 the Olympic Games returned to Greece, the home of both the ancient Olympics and the first modern Olympics. For the first time ever a record 201 National Olympic Committees participated in the Olympic Games. Popularity in the Games reached soared to new highs as 3.9 billion people had access to the television coverage.


A Pico-led Consortium has added another record. Probably regarded as the first Asian led international Consortium to win an Athens Olympic 2004 project, the Consortium was appointed as the official contractor to supply and install the mobile temporary support units for 14 venues, including the prestigious Olympic Stadium. Scope of services included installation of over 50,000 sqm of fully functional tents, offices, signage, fencing, stages and furniture. The Consortium will be providing all these amenities to host hundreds of thousands of visitors and press from over 200 countries.

Following the successful completion of 2004 Athens Olympic contract, the consortium was also on hand at the Melbourne Commonwealth Games 2006, Olympic Winter Games in Torino 2006 and the 15th Asian Games 2006 in Doha.
