In December, Pico helped Tencent’s WeCity brand announce the results of its first project, ‘Changsha City Super Brain 1.0’. The ‘Brain’ is a sophisticated data platform which provided comprehensive digital support to Changsha’s ‘smart city’ developments. The programme itself was in integrated format, consisting of an offline conference that was livestreamed to online viewers. An awe-inspiring highlight of the physical part of the event was a demonstration of ‘laser etching’, with a laser precisely ‘burning’ the title of the introductory video onscreen before the assembled audience. Pico was appointed to provide a full range of services to the event, including event management, design and build, and execution and hospitality.

Based on functions and toolkits from the ‘Changsha City Super Brain’ data platform, the Tournament was organized into three parts: ‘City Super Brain inspection’, ‘Data security system evaluation’ and ‘Data analysis competition’. Teams competed for six awards, including cash prizes and trophies, with the winning results to be incorporated as upgrades to the ‘Super Brain’.
