The biennial Singapore Airshow returned in February 2022 as a by-invite tradeshow for high-level government and military delegations, as well as global industry players. Reputed as one of Asia’s most influential aerospace and defence exhibitions, the four-day tradeshow took place amidst the ongoing COVID-19 situation as a platform for global key players to navigate through the pandemic and forge ahead for a robust recovery of the aviation sector.
Pico was appointed by Experia (organizer) once again as the official technical partner for in-hall and chalet requirements for the 2022 edition.
Pico was responsible for the build of overall infrastructure of all chalets, totalling more than 40 units with an area of more than 3,000 sq. m. Commencing from November 2021, the scope of work included core steel structures as well as carpentry, electrical work and plumbing. Pico oversaw the chalets’ handover at the end of January to their respective owners/exhibitors for their engaged interior contractors to furnish.
In-hall, Pico carried out work for organizer requirements such as the construction of a lounge, business forum, meeting rooms, etc, for the four-day agenda. Taking crowd control and safe distancing measures into consideration, the team implemented staggered timing for move-ins and logistics movements. Planning of the floor layout also included safe distancing signage. Also factored in was extra manpower such as security to check the Pre-Event Testing status and belongings of Pico staff entering the site.
