The Fortune and Longevity of Sumeru: An Encounter between the Tashi Lhunpo Monastery and the Chengde Mountain Resort

To celebrate the sixth centennial of the construction of the Forbidden City and the ninety-fifth anniversary of the establishment of the Palace Museum, ‘The Fortune and Longevity of Sumeru: An Encounter between the Tashi Lhunpo Monastery and the Chengde Mountain Resort’ exhibition at the Chengde Museum in Hebei opened to the public on 16th September until 31st October 2020.

Pico had the pleasure in providing services for this historic exhibition from design and build, protection of the exhibits to onsite set-up.

The exhibition introduced visitors to the monumental visit the Sixth Panchen Lama paid to Emperor Qianlong and the activities during their stay in Chengde. It showcased the valuable cultural relics from the Chengde Mountain Resort Museum, Xumi Fushou Temple, the Palace Museum in Beijing and Tashi Lhunpo Monastery in Tibet.
